Team Antigua & Barbuda has advanced to the finals of the 53rd Leeward Islands Debating Competition after defeating defending champions Nevis in a closely contested semifinal on Friday.
Representing Antigua State College, Jada Quinland and Leanna Browne secured victory with a score of 720 to 696. The pair successfully argued in favor of equal parental leave for mothers and fathers, with Quinland earning the Best Speaker award.
Antigua & Barbuda will now face St. Maarten in the final on Saturday, March 8, as they seek to claim the championship.
