Prime Minister Gaston Browne has provided an update on major infrastructure projects across Antigua and Barbuda, pointing to steady improvements in roadworks and water delivery, along with a visible surge in construction activity nationwide.

Speaking on his _Browne and Browne_ radio show, the Prime Minister revealed that the government has secured $100 million in funding for additional roadworks, with a particular focus on secondary and community roads.

“In the next six to twelve months, we expect to see a significant improvement in road conditions across the country,” he said.

Turning to the long-standing water supply issue, Browne said the government continues to expand water infrastructure and is on track to provide consistent 24-hour access to most areas by September 2025. He noted that his administration has invested more in water production and distribution than any other in the country’s history.

“We have greater capacity now than ever before,” Browne said. “It’s still a challenge, but we’re making real progress.”

The Prime Minister also highlighted a rise in private construction, describing it as a positive sign of economic confidence. “Everywhere you look, there’s building going on—homes, businesses, infrastructure. That tells a story of growth,” he added.

Browne said infrastructure development remains central to his government’s economic agenda and a key driver of job creation and long-term resilience.
