Construction on the Booby Alley Housing Project, funded by the Chinese government, has been temporarily suspended following the death of a Chinese worker, reportedly due to electrocution on Wednesday.
Ambassador Clarence Pilgrim, who chairs the project’s oversight committee, announced the pause during a site visit on Thursday. He met with officials from ZhongAn HuaLi Construction Group, the contracted firm, and a representative of the Chinese Embassy in St John’s.
