Prime Minister Gaston Browne has called on members of the Antiguan and Barbudan diaspora to invest in land and real estate opportunities back home, assuring them that no barriers exist to their participation.

Speaking on his weekly radio programme on Pointe FM, Browne said there are “no restrictions” preventing nationals living overseas from purchasing property in Antigua and Barbuda. He cited recent examples of foreign-based citizens successfully acquiring land, including a woman who recently donated medical supplies and was allocated a parcel of land in return.

“There’s no limitation,” Browne said. “People living in the U.S. or elsewhere have been buying land here without issue.”

The Prime Minister urged overseas Antiguans and Barbudans to take advantage of available land, especially in areas earmarked for development such as Shell Beach and Rural North. He warned that hesitation could see locals missing out on prime locations, which may later be snapped up by foreign investors.

Browne added that the government is currently acquiring land in key areas, installing infrastructure, and reselling the lots at subsidised rates to ensure greater access for citizens.

The appeal comes amid a broader push by the administration to boost economic empowerment and encourage property ownership among nationals at home and abroad.
