Community concern is rising in Antigua following a series of attempted child luring incidents involving suspicious vehicles.

At least three cases have been reported in recent weeks. In the latest, a man in a white Toyota Vitz allegedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car.

A photo of the vehicle has been shared with police and circulated on social media.

Earlier, an 8-year-old girl in Fort Road was approached by a stranger in a silver Toyota Vitz while walking to her aunt’s home. She escaped unharmed and alerted nearby adults.

In another incident, a 10-year-old boy heading to meet his father on High Street after exiting a bus in Potters was approached by two men in a white Honda CRV.

He too was not harmed.

While no abductions have taken place, the incidents—similar in nature and involving specific vehicle models—have triggered calls for greater vigilance.

Community leaders and parents are urging increased police patrols, improved safety measures near schools and bus stops, and the installation of surveillance cameras in high-risk areas.
