Senator Dwayne George has expressed his deepest sympathy to Cassandra Simon following the tragic passing of her son, Kahleel Simon, who died on his 18th birthday.
In a statement, Senator George said: “On behalf of my family, my branch and myself, I extend my deepest and sincerest condolences to you, Cassandra, on the passing of your beloved son, Kahleel Simon.”
He acknowledged the profound sorrow of the loss, noting that Kahleel’s birthday, a milestone that should have been filled with celebration, had instead become “a day of great sorrow and unimaginable pain.”
Senator George assured the grieving mother that she was not alone, emphasising the support of both himself and the wider community. “I stand with you, and so does our community, holding you in prayer, in love, and in strength,” he said.
He also paid tribute to Kahleel’s memory, stating it would “forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him,” and that his light would continue to shine through “the love he shared and the life he touched.”
Concluding his message, Senator George offered words of comfort and faith: “May God’s comfort surround you, may His peace carry you through, and may you find strength in knowing that Kahleel will always be with you in spirit.”
The Simon family has received widespread support from friends, neighbours, and community leaders during this time of mourning.
