The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring a tropical wave off the west coast of Africa, officials said on Friday.
Currently, the system is producing disorganised showers and thunderstorms as it moves west–west-northwest across the eastern and central Atlantic at 10 to 15 mph.
Forecasters warn that gradual development is possible over the coming days. The NHC has assigned a low chance of formation in the next 48 hours, but a medium chance, around 40%, over the next seven days.
Residents and mariners in affected regions are advised to stay updated on the system as it progresses across the Atlantic.
