Subject: PUBLIC NOTICE — TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE TREASURY DEPARTMENT

Dear valued customers,

The Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance & Corporate Governance wishes to advise the general public that the Department will be closed to the public on Friday, 10th July 2026.

This closure is necessitated by Exercise STRONGHOLD; a national security exercise being conducted from 8th to 10th July 2026 as part of preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). The exercise includes establishing a designated security zone in sections of St. John’s, extending from Newgate Street in the north to New Street in the south and from Parliament Drive in the east to Corn Alley in the west, within which the Treasury Department is located. Vehicular and pedestrian access to this area will be restricted for the duration of the exercise.

Members of the public are therefore advised that all in-person services at the Treasury Department, including payments, exchanges, and general inquiries, will be unavailable on Friday, 10th July 2026. Normal operations will resume on Monday, 13th July 2026. Persons with urgent matters are encouraged to conduct their business with the Department on or before Thursday, 9th July 2026, or to contact the Department via telephone or email during regular business hours.

The Treasury Department apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its cooperation as the nation prepares to host a safe and successful CHOGM 2026.

Sincerely,

Accountant General
