A no-case submission filed on behalf of Crosbies resident Nadeem Brandon Doumith has been dismissed, clearing the way for him to face trial in the High Court on multiple drug charges.
Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel rejected attorney Wendel Alexander’s argument that there was insufficient evidence to send the case to trial.
Doumith was initially charged alongside Jamaican businessman Francis Young, but the charges against Young were withdrawn in June on the instructions of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case stems from a May 9, 2025 operation at Deep Water Harbour, where authorities allegedly found 62 pounds of cannabis valued at EC$372,000.
Doumith faces five charges, including drug trafficking conspiracy, cannabis possession, importation and supply-related offences.
