Minister for Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Hon. Michael Joseph, and Permanent Secretary Stacey Gregg-Paige are representing Antigua and Barbuda at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Pooled Procurement Services (PPS) Meeting, which focuses on regional collaboration in the procurement of pharmaceuticals and other essential medical supplies.

The OECS-PPS plays an important role in enabling participating Member States to pool their purchasing requirements, helping to secure competitive prices and improve access to quality-assured medicines and health commodities. Regional discussions on pharmaceutical procurement are critical to strengthening supply chain management, promoting cost-effectiveness and supporting the reliable availability of essential medicines throughout the Eastern Caribbean.

Antigua and Barbuda’s participation reflects the Government’s continued commitment to regional cooperation and the strengthening of national pharmaceutical procurement systems. Through engagement with OECS partners, the Ministry seeks to support sustainable procurement practices that contribute to the availability of essential medicines and the delivery of quality healthcare to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
