Antigua and Barbuda’s young footballers have made history, recording their first-ever victory at the FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan with a 3-0 win over the British Virgin Islands.

The landmark result marks a proud moment for the nation’s young Benna Boys, who have overcome a challenging journey of setbacks and determination to secure their first win at the international tournament.

The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) celebrated the achievement in a statement on social media, describing it as a historic milestone for the country’s youth football programme.

“History made! Our first World Cup victory!” the association declared.

The ABFA said the victory demonstrated the potential of the nation’s emerging football talent and reflected the players’ perseverance throughout the competition.

The association congratulated the team, urging the young footballers to build on their achievement and continue striving for success.

The 3-0 result represents an important moment for Antigua and Barbuda’s youth football development and provides encouragement for the next generation of national players.

The inaugural tournament features 189 national teams and runs from October 24 to 30 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Matches are played eight-a-side, with an emphasis on youth development and international experience.
