A mother is demanding accountability after a video showing a teacher slapping her son in the face went viral on social media.
The mother, who has been seeking justice for months, revealed that she immediately went to the school to get answers following the incident. However, she claims the principal seemed more concerned about how she found out rather than addressing the situation.
“My son has a cell phone, and the sole purpose of giving him one is for emergencies. He used it to contact me when this happened,” the mother stated. She further revealed that she had to pay $50 to retrieve the phone from the school after it was confiscated.
Despite reaching out to officials at the Ministry of Education on the same day, she says she has been met with delays and inaction. “It’s been almost four months of back-and-forth with the ministry, and nothing has been done,” she added.
The incident has sparked public outcry, with many calling for disciplinary action against the teacher and a review of school policies regarding student discipline.
Efforts to obtain a response from the school and the Ministry of Education are ongoing.
