An Antiguan and Barbudan man who is accused of having a criminal offence in the United States, has been deported.

The man, who was charged for Criminal Assault in Pennsylvania, was flown to Antigua shortly after 2 Saturday morning.

It is the first time since President Trump assumed office for his second term that an Antiguan and Barbudan national has been deported, after having been accused of criminal conduct.

He was accompanied on the flight to Antigua by a U.S. security agent.

Security sources who spoke with ABS News are tight-lipped about details of the man’s identity, age and the time spent in the United States, but assure they are following all established protocols in these circumstances.

The Trump administration has been ratcheting up its immigration crackdown, one of the president’s signature policy positions.
