Liberty Caribbean has announced its return as Headline Sponsor of the 41st CANTO Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition, marking the fifth consecutive year the company has served as the event’s principal sponsor.

The conference will be held from August 9–12, 2026, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Under the theme “Elevate the Caribbean – From Connectivity to Global Competitiveness,” this year’s conference will bring together government leaders, regulators, policymakers, technology innovators, and telecommunications providers to explore how the region can accelerate digital transformation, strengthen competitiveness, and unlock sustainable economic growth.

As one of the Caribbean’s leading communications and technology providers, Liberty Caribbean will play a central role in the conference through executive participation in keynote sessions, roundtable discussions, fireside chats, and expert panels examining the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly AI-driven digital economy.

“The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence is redefining how economies compete, businesses grow, and societies connect. For the Caribbean, this presents an unprecedented opportunity to leap forward,” said Inge Smidts, Chief Executive Officer, Liberty Caribbean.

“Liberty Caribbean is committed to investing in the networks, partnerships, and digital capabilities that will enable our region to embrace these opportunities with confidence. CANTO provides the ideal platform for the conversations and collaboration that will help shape the Caribbean’s next chapter of digital growth.”

Throughout the conference, Liberty Caribbean will champion discussions around expanding connectivity, advancing digital inclusion, shaping progressive policy and regulatory frameworks, and strengthening collaboration across the region to accelerate innovation.

Liberty Caribbean’s continued investment in CANTO reflects the company’s commitment to partnering with governments, regulators, businesses, and industry stakeholders to help build a more connected, resilient, and globally competitive Caribbean.

As Headline Sponsor, Liberty Caribbean will engage with regional Ministers, regulators, ICT leaders, and private sector representatives to help shape the future of digital development across the Caribbean.

The conference provides a valuable platform to strengthen strategic partnerships, contribute to regional policy discussions, and reinforce the company’s position as a trusted industry leader in advancing digital transformation and sustainable growth.

The conference programme will feature keynote presentations, expert-led discussions, technology showcases, and networking opportunities designed to advance the Caribbean’s digital agenda and foster greater regional collaboration.
