Antigua and Barbuda Cultural Delegation Departs for World Expo 2025 in Japan

The Department of Culture – Ministry of Creative Industries in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, is proud to announce the departure of a 10-member cultural delegation to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, from September 23rd to October 2nd, 2025.

The main highlight of the delegation’s engagement will be the National Day Celebration on September 28th, 2025, where Antigua and Barbuda will take center stage with the cultural production “Wadadli, Wa’Omoni – The Pearls of the Caribbean.”

“Wadadli, Wa’Omoni – The Pearls of the Caribbean” is a dynamic showcase of the nation’s identity told through music, dance, and storytelling. Rooted in African traditions, enriched by European influences, and blossoming into a uniquely Caribbean expression, the performance traces the journey of a resilient people whose history and creativity continue to inspire.

From the pulsating rhythms of African-inspired drumming and movement to the elegance of the Antiguan quadrille, and the festive vibrancy of Carnival and Soca, this seamless cultural journey is brought to life by Director of Culture and world-leading steelpan artist Khan Cordice, Award Winning vocalist King Tian Winter, and a combined Antigua and Barbuda Cultural Group. Together, the ensemble will present an experience that is both educational and exhilarating, leaving audiences with a deep appreciation of Antigua and Barbuda—the Pearls of the Caribbean.

This engagement reflects Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and its mission to share the nation’s artistic excellence with the world.
