Police in Antigua and Barbuda are investigating a significant burglary at a construction site in Marble Hill, where thieves escaped with appliances and fixtures valued at more than EC$30,000.

The owner discovered the break-in at around 08:30 on Monday, after the property—still under construction—was reportedly secured the night before. The theft is believed to have taken place between 18:00 on Sunday and the time it was found the following morning.

Items allegedly stolen include a washing machine, dryer, refrigerator, 30-inch stove, microwave, air conditioning unit, and three televisions. Several bathroom fixtures and decorative pieces were also taken.

According to police, the intruders forced their way in through a bedroom door before exiting through a bathroom door after ransacking the building.

Investigators questioned several people in the surrounding area, but no useful information has yet been obtained. A search for the missing items was unsuccessful, and the scene has been processed for evidence.

Police say inquiries remain ongoing.
