The family of Dylan Simon, who was convicted last month of several charges, including larceny has issued a public update on his delayed sentencing, acknowledging widespread public interest in the case and expressing appreciation for ongoing support.

The sentencing before Justice Stanley John, originally scheduled for December 11, 2025, has been postponed to allow time for the completion of a pre-sentencing report, which will be prepared by social workers. This standard court procedure provides a detailed overview of a defendant’s personal and social background to aid in determining an appropriate and fair sentence.

While expressing their disappointment with the delay of the pre-sentencing report, which was extended through the holiday season, the family has emphasized its importance, particularly in evaluating the potential impact of any sentence on Mr. Simon’s two young daughters, who are currently in primary school.

A new sentencing date will be set once the report is completed and reviewed by the court.

Mr. Simon’s family and legal team continue to thank supporters for their encouragement during this challenging time and reaffirm their commitment to seeing the judicial process through to its conclusion.
