The Central Board of Health’s (CBH) nationwide Anti-Rodent Campaign is already delivering results, with several rats captured within 24 hours of traps being set across local communities.

CBH officials said the Rodent Control Team rechecked and reset traps on Tuesday, recording multiple catches that confirm rodent activity in targeted areas. The campaign, launched this week, aims to cut rodent populations, reduce the spread of disease, and improve public health.

Authorities highlighted that trapping not only reduces infestations but also helps identify hotspots where rodent populations are more active. “Fewer rats means fewer diseases spread to people,” the CBH noted, adding that the daily trap resets keep the campaign active and effective.

The initiative, dubbed “WANTED DEAD – NOT ALIVE!”, will continue across the island, with the team moving from community to community. CBH urged residents to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain cleaner, safer surroundings.
