My girlfriend has been raped by her father continuously and it is affecting our entire life. She said it started when she was 15 and she is now 21.
She never told anyone, but during intercourse, she would place her hands over her face. When I asked her why she did that she told me what happened. We went to the police, but they did not act on it.
She is now too ashamed to pursue the matter but it is affecting our lives. This has damaged her and I don’t know where to go or what to do. I am hoping by placing this in the media her father will see the damage he has caused his child.
I want to make this woman my wife one day but the damage done will clearly affect the way going forward.
I am also concerned about our legal system. She went to the police and made a report yet her father has not been arrested. This man also has a younger daughter and I am scared he may have done and could be doing this to this poor girl.
I believe his sister or cousin is a police officer and I am unclear whether this is why he wasn’t arrested.
I have asked my girlfriend to continue to pursue it but the shame is preventing her. I don’t know if using Antigua.news forum will help at all. I came here because I saw similar stories about matters like this right here.
