Antiguan artist Peetron Thomas experienced a frightening ordeal on Tuesday morning, when what started as a simple ride to town turned into a life-threatening situation.

Thomas explained:

“After being late for work and trying to get a bus to town, a vehicle stood up and gave me a ride. With the urgency that I was in, and knowing as an artist people know me that I don’t know, I took the ride. I opened the door, the person had on a hoodie and a mask. I felt very uncomfortable, and by the time we reached Parham Corner, I was at gunpoint.

When I was asked to give them my wallet, I was hesitant, andddddd with f#####g gun pointed to my head…….I just gave him my wallet. He just took the money, then allowed me to leave then drove off.

With all that happening, I just took a walk and went to my grandmother’s tomb, and I’m just here meditating.”

Shaken but unharmed, Thomas sought solace at his grandmother’s tomb, spending time in quiet reflection and meditation, he shared.
